Nelson Commons turned the page on another chapter in the development, with the sale of the final residence to a long-time Nelson area resident. Our new neighbour was living on a large property outside of town and is looking forward to the convenience of downtown living.
With this sale, all 54 residential units have been sold, including two which were sold at reduced price to qualifying families. Remaining are three Commercial/Retail units: the unit on the corner of Hendryx and Vernon Street, and two on Hall Street. One unit on Vernon Street has been sold to a Toronto-based company and is now in use as a medical cannabis dispensary. The two commercial spaces on Baker Street adjacent to the Kootenay Co-op entrance have been leased by the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences for use as their massage school. Renovations on the space are underway.
